Welcome to T.E.A.R.S. TRAIN EDUCATE AND REHABILITATE SOCIALLY

Tears is a beacon of hope for intellectually disabled children and their families. For over 33 years, our organization has been dedicated to empowering these children, providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive.

Founding Members

Tears, an institute for intellectually disabled children, was founded by Dr. Rita Agarwal(Director/Secretory), with a Master’s degree and PhD in psychology, specializing in Intellectual Disability, a passionate and dedicated individual who has devoted her life to making a difference in the lives of children with intellectual disabilities. Originally from Lucknow, Dr. Agarwal settled in Agra after her marriage and, with the support and help of the late Dr. Madhuban Singh(Founder President) a renowned psychiatrist, she began her journey to create a haven for children with special needs.

Founder's Message

founder-rita

We've always endeavored to nurture the hidden talents of children to the extent possible, reducing undesirable behavior while increasing desirable behavior, and integrating them into the mainstream. Just as a common person's goal is to engage in a profession, similarly, we aim to empower our special adults by engaging them in a profession, enabling them to stand on their own feet.

You can imagine how difficult it is in today's world for a normal, healthy person to lead a happy life. Now, consider how difficult it is for individuals with intellectual disabilities. At TEARS, we are working very hard to teach these children through play-based techniques. While they are playing, we are teaching them to make them more social and happy. I invite you all to join me in these efforts.

Over the years, Tears has grown exponentially, and today it provides training and support to 150 students with a staff of 45 dedicated professionals to a full-fledged campus with:

  • 32 Classrooms
